A Port Out PIN (sometimes called a Number Transfer PIN or Account PIN) is a security code required by your current phone provider to authorize the transfer of your phone number to a new carrier. It protects your number from being transferred without your permission.
Your PIN is typically 4–6 digits and is different from your account password. Here's how to get it from the most common providers:
- AT&T: Log in at att.com or call 1-800-331-0500 and say "Port Out PIN"
- CenturyLink / Lumen: Call 1-800-244-1111 and request a transfer PIN
- Frontier: Call 1-800-921-8101 or log in to your account online
- Spectrum: Call 1-833-697-7328 or chat at spectrum.com
- Other providers: Call the customer service number on your bill and ask for your "Port Out PIN" or "Number Transfer PIN"
